Who we are

A born old-world restaurateur, our founder Aykan Demiroglu was two months old when he first visited his grandfather’s famed Istanbul restaurant, RujeNuar. Raised between Geneva, Switzerland and Istanbul, Turkey, Aykan recieved his degree in hospitality from César Ritz Colleges in Le Bouveret, Switzerland.

Managing and opening multiple restaurants across Europe, including the Emporio Armani Caffè in Istanbul, as well as working with chefs like Roberto Donna and Yannick Cam in the United States, Aykan’s experience in hospitality over the last 40 years is unparalleled. His restaurants have received rave reviews from local and national press, including The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and USA Today.
